On March 16, the Dwyer team donated an assortment of nonperishable food items to its local food pantry. The donations raised by employees at our Michigan City location included a variety of canned goods such as corn, peas, and soup.

With the year steadily progressing, Dwyer hopes this donation will be able to help support families in need.

Dwyer Instruments, Inc. Senior Human Resources Manager, Shawn Rutkowski, said:

The Michigan City Food Pantry is a tremendous community asset. The pantry helps over 70 families with affordable food. Often food pantries are only recognized during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Dwyer is excited to help supply the pantry during those seasons as well as other times of the year. Giving back to our community is important to our team.
Hunger is not a seasonal issue; families are in need year-round. When “41 million people struggle with hunger in the United States,” it is important to give support even during the off-season. (Feeding America) Donations collected during this time help to fill the shelves until busier times of the year, such as during the holidays.

In the past, Dwyer employees have run book drives for local students and gathered pet supplies for the Michiana Humane Society. Dwyer strives to support both its community and the future generation of engineers.
