Filters, Regulators and Lubricators: For Pneumatic systems, liquid, nylon, and particle filters, air pressure, and air filter regulators are available. Replaceable filter elements remove particles and droplets as small as .01 micron with 93-95% efficiency. Applications are for substantial flow capacity.

Three-Way Valve: Three Way valves are for pneumatic tubing systems. Dwyer's instruments are able to hook 3 instruments together, tests various gages and transmitters. Constructed of solid gray PVC, has Buna-N seals, and a rotating flag handle. The handle has 180° rotation and lies directly over the open port.

Gage Guards/Pressure Snubbers: Pressure snubbers protect pressure instruments from pressure surges. Gauge guards provide a protective barrier between the process fluid and the instrument. Fittings, Stainless Steel: Pneumatic fittings are made of stainless steel. Dwyer's fittings are designed and manufactured to provide reliable leak-free connections in a variety of applications. Fittings, Nylon: Pneumatic fittings are made of nylon. Nylon fittings are generally acceptable for use at working pressures up to 150 psi at normal room temperatures, and at very low pressures, temperatures can approach 175°F.

How do I hook up my Magnehelic® gage for an air velocity application with a pitot tube?

Answer

In our Application Guides on flow products, we explain very well how to take air velocity readings. The total pressure connection on the pitot tube is connected to one of the high pressure ports on the gage. The other high pressure port is plugged. The static pressure connection on the pitot tube is connected to one of the low pressure ports on the gage. The other low pressure port is plugged.

Trying to measure differential pressure between OSA and indoors. Using transmitters with a range of +25pa to -25pa. Monitoring pressure variations occur from basically 0pa to 20pa over a short period of time (15 to 30 sec) Building is basically closed during testing, suspect OSA fluctuating due to winds? eddy currents etc. Any ideas, Building under positive pressure is critical for safety reasons Any ideas?

Whenever you are using outside air for a static pressure reference, fluctuations in outside conditions can cause erratic differential pressure readings. By using one of our outdoor static reference probes, you can diminish the influence of outdoor weather on your reading.

What might be the cause for Magnehelic® gages filling approximately 1/3 full of water, with lots of liquid droplets on the glass. Both are outside mounted on the side of an air stripping tower. One is a differential pressure gage that measures the pressure drop across a pitot tube. The other just measures the back pressure in the stripper. What can be done to fix the malfunction?

Answer

It looks like you’re getting some condensation in the Magnehelic®, which is causing it to collect on the bottom of the face. Since the Magnehelic® is not encapsulated, it is not recommended to be used in applications where moisture can form. One option to fix the problem is installing a liquid filter (like an F222) to filter out that moisture. Another option is to install a Capsuhelic (Series 4000), which is made to handle both air and liquid.
